Create an Art Piece Summative Assessment

$3.00

Our classes are full of budding artists, and what a way to let them show their painting, crochet, or other art while demonstrating their learning!

Do you have students who are musically inclined? Do you want them to find evidence and make it relevant to their own lives?

Part 1:

This resource asks students to identify a symbol, and find three pieces of evidence to back up that symbol’s use. Students will choose 5 elements that they can relate in some way to the symbol and themes from the novel that they want to include on the piece. They will choose five artistic elements (this could be medium, colors, or other creative choices), then explain in two-three sentences how those elements relate to the theme of the novel/the symbol. At least one reference to the symbol should be made (direct or indirect-be creative!).

Part 2:

There are prompts included asking students to use the evidence they collected in part one to complete an essay about the symbol (rubric included).

This resource includes:

-Video instructions on how to set up the assessment.

-Student template slides

-Student instructions doc (with rubric)

-Teacher instructions

-Essay writing prompt (with rubric)
